This study met one of its primary end points; the regimens that included bevacizumab were associated
with a reduced hazard of death. This effect was consistent across multiple prognostic subgroups. The control chemotherapy regimen did not underperform, since the median overall survival of 13.3 months among patients receiving this regimen was similar to that observed among patients who received cisplatin–paclitaxel in the preceding phase 3 trial.5
