The objective of this study was to know the role of earth-worm as ecological engineer to change the physico-chemicalproperties of soil. The samples of vermicast from botanical gar-den and agriculture field were collected and their physico-chemicalproperties were compared with soil collected from the samefield. Botanical garden and agriculture field were chosen forthe present study to know the effect of application of pesti-cide and chemical fertilizer on the activity of earthworm. As aconsequence more research is needed to understand the role ofearthworm as soil engineers, influence soil properties and plantgrowth.
