(Y/N) had felt a wave of deja vu as she found herself being sat down in an ambulance with a shock blanket draped over her shoulders. After hearing the stories and testimonies of the other students, the police force had all concluded that (Y/N) was the only one to actually make any kind of contact with Poison Ivy and the rest of the villains there.
After being checked over for any wounds they had been exceedingly surprised that she had none despite there being witnesses that had claimed that she had pushed Poison Ivy by surprise. They had expected the Poison Ivy would have had her revenge against the girl but found no bruises or any cuts of the like.
"Hey there."
(Y/N) lifted her gaze from her hands gathered in her lap and saw a man looking straight at her. He was on his knees, a submissive position to show her that he meant no harm, as he took her hands into his own.
"My name is Gordon. What's yours young lady?"
(Y/N) stared at him and appreciated his attempts at comforting her, and she had to admit that she still couldn't wrap her mind over what had happened. So much had been revealed in one day - for example her unknown powers - a part of her parent's past - and not to mention she met the Batman. He didn't look too happy when he had saw her, but she couldn't ask any questions as he disappeared after binding the criminals together.
"(Y/N)." She replied.
Gordon gave her the sweetest smile she had seen since she had entered Gotham Academy. Usually everyone was too busy studying or getting worked up about finals to even give her a second glance. The only smiles she ever really got where from strangers passing her by, and that was satisfying at all.
"Now I know you've already been asked a few times, but can you repeat everything that happened to me?"
(Y/N) did as commanded and retold the entire thing with the exception of her little power incident. She had instead lied and said that she had intended to punch Poison Ivy, but tripped and pushed the woman instead. Not to mention that she merely got lucky dodging all of the attacks directed towards her.
"That was very brave but stupid." He scolded.
"I just wanted to help." (Y/N) admitted honestly.
"We leave those sort of things up to the vigilantes." He said - probably the only cop that would ever say anything like that. All the other cops seemed to flinch and scowl at the sound of Batman's name which made it obvious that they didn't like him that much. Gordon seemed to appreciate the idea of vigilantes more than the rest of them, however.
"But what if they hadn't gotten there in time?" (Y/N) said - remembering when Poison Ivy had busted out of the school in her previous timeline - swinging cops around like rag dolls and picking up (Y/N) with a psychotic smile on her face. Why had Ivy gotten out then? What changed?
