Conclusions
Following the two recent toner incidents in Japan and
subsequent evaluation tests, it is clear that toner powder can
easily lead to dust explosion, and re-used toner is more
hazardous because it has a wide particle size distribution
which means smaller toner particle exists. In future, demand
for finer printing may result in more high-grade copy
machines and finer toner being produced, which makes the
toner more hazardous. Therefore there needs to be an
increased awareness of safety issues in manufacture,
storage, and distribution facilities which handle such toner.
