compare midwives’ antenatal clinic service and routine
obstetrician-led antenatal care in terms of childbirth
outcomes, psychological state and women’s satisfaction.
Our study was designed to address the hypothesis that
compared with routine obstetrician-led antenatal care, the
midwives’ antenatal clinic service would result in a lower
caesarean section rate, similar (or more favourable)
childbirth outcomes, greater satisfaction with care and
improved continuity of care and carer.
