Should you lend money to friend?
"will you lend me fifty dollars? I'll pay it right back."
The saying goes: Lend money to a friend and you lose the money and the friend.
It may be a simple matter of a friend asking you to pay for a sandwich because he or she forgot to bring money.
Or it could be you pay for your friend's bus fare because all your all your friend has is a large bill.
Or you may lend larger amounts of money.
Here is what some people have to say about this sensitive issue.
My parents give a monthly allowance of $200. Some time ago lent $150 to two friends.
One paid me back months later after I begged and pleaded for the money back, and the other friend just disappeared.
I had to borrow money form my sister to pay for my things.
I learned only to lend money when I don't need it. Do you think I'm right? Clyde
If you feel that you want to help a friend financially, it is best to give the money as a gift that doesn't need to be repaid. So when your friend spends money on something silly you won't be upset about it. Do you agree? Rebecca
A close friend of mine has the habit of asking me to lend her money.
Once she sill owed me money, but she asked to borrow some more. She promised to pay me back within a week, but she never did. What makes me mad is that she went to Mexico on vacation with my money! I don't want to lose her friendship. What can I do? Angela
I never lend money to friend. I prefer to give money when someone needs it. Maybe I'll get it beck, or maybe I won't. I just sent a guy some money. I didn't tell him. It's a surprise. He's out of work, and this is where the rent for next month is coming from. When he gets a job, he'll probably pay me back. Don't you think I'm right? Herbert
