The Kitaro Nishida Memorial Museum of Philosophy is a museum located in Kahoku city of Ishikawa Prefecture. On exhibition here are relics, manuscripts, and mainly materials on philosophy of Kahoku-born philosopher, Kitaro Nishida, who is representative of Japan. The building is designed by Tadao Ando, and areas to “think” are provided throughout the museum. For example, there are chairs in the foyer available for anyone to sit in, and there, visitors can slowly contemplate in the sunlight coming through the ceiling.
