Total suspended solids (TSS) showed a similar trend to nutrient concentrations, and increased in parallel with nutrient elevations and associated locations and sites classified as polluted (Fig. 4).TSS was particularly elevated in the developed bays during the wet season when increased land runoff is to be expected (May 2007), but remained high at these locations also during the dry
season of January and December (Fig. 4). Elevated TSS levels were usually accompanied by lower dissolved oxygen levels (Fig. 4).
