(1) Born in Thailand in 1976 , raised in a family’s hometown in Payao which is in the north of Thailand, enjoying a well diversified learning under a scholar-family climate and gradually assimilating into a learning culture,Phakdee Siripongpaisarn finished a high school with the recognition of the Academic Excellence Award of the Highest Grade Point Average (GPA) from Pattanasueksa School in 1993 and was immediately offered a seat for an Electrical Engineering Bachelor Degree course by the University of Engineering and Technology (IET) which is recognised as one of the Top 5 Best Engineering institutes in Thailand.
(2) Yet, my student’s life continued to become even more enjoyable when my social interaction in relation to youth activities was fully exercised in a national level and Asia Pacific region as I was selected by Ministry of Education of Thailand to be a national representative as the Teenage Ambassador from Thailand to exchange Thai-Japanese cultures with Japanese students in Tokyo , Japan in 1993 .This was the first time ever to broaden my visions to the world and experienced how they intelligently used the advanced-technology to cope with their fast pace of lives and still be able to keep natures green simultaneously. This considerably inspired me to be into Technology and Engineering.Thus, from the academic and social interaction outstanding results, I then was nominated as a national finalist candidate for Her Royal Highness Princess Scholarship Competition in the same year which was the ultimate achievement bringing my family proud and honor.
(3) My university’ life brightly began at IET where provided me a vast array of intensively professional learning , involving the generalisation and in-depth theories of electrical engineering as well as engineering practices. Equally importantly , though, those learned in a class became more realistic when the opportunity to hand on came in and led me to join the Electronics Club of the faculty of Engineering. It is the community which interested students both undergraduates and graduates worked for and created such activities as electronics researches , electronics laboratory experiments and , interesting though they may be , developing a lighting system used for a musical theatre and dance theatre.As a head of academic department of the club, I found it very comprehensive in how engineering knowledges learned in a class turned to practices in various forms of outcomes such as creating electronics products used in campus , hosting a robot fighting competition and above all , a life in the club taught me how to handle a conflict under stressed circumstances and that usually rewarded a strong teamwork. This perhaps warranted a good first step to start my future engineering career. Later in 1998, I graduated in a Bachelor’s Degree of Electrical Power Engineering, with a senior project of 3-Phase PWM Inverter based for Microcontroller -- the electronics system used to control the speed of motor.
(4) After graduation in 1998, I started my first career as an engineer at TSS Global Corporate , in the Global Quality Assurance Division of a storage devices division. Through 8 years of having been refined through TSS quality philosophy both of theoretical perspectives and international practices , I then was selected by TSS Global Corporate (which later becomes UTT Global Corporate ) to be the quality taskforce team leader from Thailand to globally conduct the manufacturing quality audit of Inegrated Circuit Modules (ICM) components in various flagship manufacturers worldwide , involving those located in North America and those in Asia Pacific regions; such as USA , Mexico , Japan , Singapore, China, Hong Kong , the Philippines, Malaysia , Indonesia and Thailand. Thus, the knowledges gained from experiencing almost 30 diversified factories among over 10 countries played a pivotal role in constituting a vast array of quality concepts which consequently rewarded me and the company achievements with proven track records of exceeding Corporate’s quality target and winning the best-in-class quality award given by the company’s top customer. Further, I decided to continue the Master’s degree of Business Administration and finished the course in 2005 - which considerably helped me integrate engineering skills into those of management.
(5) In 2006, a JP-Morgan Joint Venture Manufacturer –namely FastTech Asia Co.,Ltd searched for candidates to fulfill a position of manager of supplier quality engineering and found my qualification constructive. To fulfill a newly established factory , they then offered me a position of manager of supplier quality engineering and I decided to join the company. The predominate task was to develop partnership with a Singaporean company in a quality area to produce ICM’s component delivered to ICM customers. Moreover, a task was to qualify vendors in order to outsource works for competitive price of materials as well. These brought the achievement of zero defect of quality field return with 98% of On Time Delivery (OTD) which met customer’s expectation and consequently made the company be able to penetrate the world’s top 3 ICM companies and acquire more sale orders of nearly 30 % growth in 6 months.
(6) Taking another new endeavor in 2007 when one US telecommunication company , PDS ,Inc. which is a photonic subsystem and fiber optical products manufacturer and provider, offered me to join the company as its head quarter in New York decided to newly establish an Asia Operation Centre in Thailand , I then decided to join as a principal customer quality engineer.The company is a major source for many leading telecommunication firms such as SCT Network , NS Telecom , etc. With regard to this, I had plenty of opportunities to explore solutions for customers’ quality and reliability issues in various cases as manufacturing assessment by customers took place regularly and sometimes unexpectedly ,which required me to cope with such circumstances to get through in way concretely and appropriately.Yet , a certain benefit I gained from the job was a time management since another predominate responsibility was in relation to distance conference calls with customers who are are in various time zones from different parts of the world. Therefore , properly managing this was very challenging and eventually gave the very positive impact upon the invidual - me and the company at large. Little wonder,then, these led to an even stronger client focus and stepping in a professional level in managing customers issues - recognised by SCT Network - USA. I had enjoyed this company for almost 3 years.
(7) My most desired occupation came when I stepped in a commercial world since late 2009 till present, I have had my managerial skills fully utilised when my qualification was found fit to a role of Manager of Account Management in Business Development department at KPT Public Co.,Ltd which is Top 20 World’s Best Electronics Manufacturing Service (EMS) provider. Despite the company had offered an exceptional level of product manufacturing with superior quality to customers mostly in Scandinavia , Northern Europe and America, the territory of Central Europe later became flagship as KPT strived for expanding the business in this area. By this strategy , the management team then selected me to be fully responsible for one French-German automotive business. This customer owns its electronics product design and searched for a competitive EMS to produce their products - which KPT found matched with their requirement.
(8) Currently, as a role of account manager, the predominate tasks are not only to be accountable for excellently coping with customer’s engineering aspects, but also company’s revenue in responsible account, a profit margin control and winning more new projects. To begin with, missions are first to win customer business by means of demonstrating them the factory’s manufacturing technology, supporting system, supporting team and offering them the competitive product price according to engineering and commercial concepts. Second is to have a business contract reviewed and signed by both parties and then as soon as turn it into production, delivery and above all enjoy earning the revenue by . Hence, I am confident that the esteemed level of Strategic Marketing and Operation Strategy For Industry provided by School of Manufacturing Engineering - Woodland (SMW) would enhance my capability in becoming even more professional in this area.
(9) Yet, the big session of this job is the execution which involves appropriately laying customer’s sales forecast and firmed order in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, scheduling the delivery, managing backlog orders, expediting raw materials under the budgeted cost, aligning with production department to produce products under zero-defective level of quality and managing logistics in order to deliver products to customer’s required destinations globally on customer’s required date. All these require the perfect timing in managing every single relevant element in a chain in order to have desired outcome.Thus, the concrete level of knowledges and practices in Operation and Logistics Management as well as Project Planning Management at your school is mandatory for me to enhance my career performance and be a competitive account manager in today’s global arena.
