propose anondestructiveapproachusingFT-Ramanandinfraredspectroscopiesfortheidentification
and differentiationofnaturalorganicsubstances.Becauseoftheirrelatedfunctionalgroups,theyusually
present similarvibrationalsignatures.Neverthelesstheuseofappropriatesignaltreatmentand
statistical analysiswassuccessfullycarriedouttoovercomethislimitation,thenproposingnewobjective
discriminating methodologytoidentifythesesubstances.Spectraldecompositioncalculationswere
performed ontheCHstretchingregionofalargesetofreferencematerialssuchasresins,oils,animal
glues, andgums.Multivariateanalyses(PrincipalComponentAnalyses)werethenperformedonthe
fitting parameters,andnewdiscriminatingcriteriawereestablished.Asetofpreviouslycharacterized
