Team members created images of a child and a young person for inclusion as members of the Project Team. Our plan was that those representations would accompany the Project Team throughout the development process, would be present at all working sessions and be deferred to for advice. The rationale was that children and young people represented groups of people who would live in Aurora but who would not normally have a say – for example, they would not be allowed to vote. We asked our colleages to describe a child (aged about 5) and a young person (aged about 15) whom they could imagine living at Aurora. They could use drawings or words for recording. We asked them to describe their personalities, their likes and dislikes, their ethnicity and their abilities.
