Composites of Cu particles decorated pomegranate-structured SnO2@C (SnO2@C/Cu) have been prepared by a simple hydrother- mal reaction coupled with wet-chemical reduction and used as anodes for LIBs. The SnO2@C/Cu anodes can exhibit good lithium battery performance with a capacity of 660 mAh g_1 tested at 600 mA g_1 after 50 cycles and good rate performance at room temperature. Compared with the pure SnO2@C, the SnO2@C/Cu anodes exhibited obviously better low-temperature electrochemi- cal performance including reversible capacity, cycling perfor- mance, and rate performance. These enhanced LIB properties for SnO2@C/Cu should be contributed from the synergistic effect of the pomegranate-like structure and the conducting Cu particles decorating.
