When I worked with the large companies I had so (too…) many things, I had a large house by the Sea outside of Stockholm, I had a summer house, I had a big boat, I had 2-3 cars, I had a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, I had my own airplane and many more things. When I decided to change my life I also started to sell things. I sold the house, the summer house, 2 cars, the motorcycle, the boat and the aircraft. Why? I realized that many things do not make you happier (easy for me whom have had everything to say…), in my case it felt like a burden and I was relieved when I had sold my things and bought a condo instead of the house.
Today I still have an apartment in Stockholm, a house in Portugal and a condo by the Sea in Baan Amphoe, Sattahip and 3 cars, two in Sweden and one in Thailand.
I do not like to have too much money, I have seen rich friends becoming prisoners, locked in by their money, and do not want to go into that trap. Money has no value in itself; it is what you can and want to do with the money that is important. I want to have financial security and I already have that if not everything goes wrong. I want to take care of my future and I want to be able to buy what I want. But I do not want big things; I have no need to show other people what I can buy. When I had the company in Bangkok I drove a Mercedes-Benz S-class but now I have bought a Toyota Vios to have at the Sattahip condo. As I wrote I like sports cars and I have had a number of Porsche cars and now I drive a new SUV car (similar to a Honda CRV) and a Porsche 911 in Sweden.
I have no regular office and work a lot from home in Sweden.
Here in Thailand I have helped a French chemical company to set up a factory and regional headquarter in Bangkok and subsidiaries in Vietnam and China. I have also been working as a consultant for a Swedish metal recycling company that set up a metal processing plant in Thailand.
