When planning a lesson, the importance is how to design all the activities and sequence them to create a coherent lesson. The instructional activities, assessment, instructional a and materials should align with one another to lead to the expected learning outcome. Four stages of lesson planning can create coherence for the lesson. First, analyzing the students is vital for lesson planning. With an understanding about the students 'background, needs, and interests, the teacher will be able to design lessons that will facilitate the students' learning effectively. Second, the teacher should also know well about the requirements of the curriculum they have to adhere to. Also, they need to know what is in the course materials that are assigned or required for the course, if any, and how to utilize the ideas in the materials. After collecting the information from these three stages, the teacher can design the lesson in details.
