As illustrated by the mean relative humidity and mean hydrometeor profiles, the local closure scheme MYJ produced insufficient vertical mixing, that resulted in less low-level moisture transfer to higher levels. MYJ run was moister at low levels in comparison to YSU run while YSU had higher relative humidity at upper levels. Thus, simulations with MYJ BL
scheme, decreased mid level condensates and caused a significant reduction in precipitating ice, consequently decreasing
surface precipitation in comparison to YSU runs.
