The association between spasticity and
Barthel index score was not found in the present study.
The reason might be most patients had spasticity
of elbow flexor and knee flexor with MAS grade I.
Spasticity in the affected arm might not hamper the
self care function as the patients can learn the
compensation technique to perform those tasks. For
mobility function, the presence of spasticity in the knee
flexors was not as great to contribute to the disability
