The first of these bands is related to the peak observed in ZnO nanoparticles at 1448.2 cm−1, which stems from the hydrated zinc oxide, but is shifted to 1406.5 cm−1, while the peak at 1341.3 cm1 is apparently attributed to the occurrence of covalent bonds of PVP with ZnO nanoparticles. Thus, our FTIR studies show that chemical reaction occur between the zinc oxide nanoparticles and polymeric stabilizer, by coordination of the zinc oxide particles with the nitrogen and oxygen atoms in PVP, as evidenced in [24].
