The best thing about the last couple of days was the encounter with a local woman who runs a hairdressing salon. I was desperately in need to make myself feel a little beautiful after three month of working on the field, therefore I ask at the reception to recommend me a local hairdresser. If you ever come to Khao Lak and need some Beauty, visit Tukta, she is one of the most amazing people I met on my journey so far. She didn’t only succeeded to colour my hair, she also offered to take care of my grandmother and show us some attractions around Khao Lak. She took care of me organizing to go back to Hat Yai, made several phone calls to bus companies when I got lost somewhere on the road. Big Thanks to her! This experience showed me, that the Thais are not only very friendly and smiling people, they are very open-minded as well. If you, as a tourist, show respect, they will respect you and like this, the “them” and “us” will disappear. There will only be “we”. It is like you are part of a new family and in a family you take care of each other.
