As the redclaw aquaculture industry develops,
it will be important to adequately
define suitable shelter specifications. Ultimately,
it should be possible to design anartificial shelter with characteristics that
maximize its use by redclaw.
To assist in defining the ideal shelter, and
with a view to providing specifications that
a manufacturer could use for mass-production,
an experiment was designed to assess
the relative performance of several shelter
types under conditions typically used for
the pond production of redclaw.
