Khao Chae or well known as “Khao Chae Chao Wang” was originally from simple Mon recipe as they prepared for pay respect to the religious belief on Songkran Days. By the time of King Rama II, it was brought and adapted to serve as one of royal’s menus and kept on continuing as a secret recipe until the end of King Rama V which in 1910, the royal recipe of Khao Chae has been spread out and becomes popular in summer until nowadays.
