The number of cruise passengers are rapidly increasing so it affects directly to the tourist attractions where they cannot be expanded or reproduced at once. Overcrowded ports and attractions, infrastructure-challenged destinations, environmental degradation and antagonistic relationships between locals and visitors are clear indicators of an unsustainable development of cruising. Therefore, this calls for more cooperate between cruise operators, ports and destination management organisations, and for the consideration of stakeholder interests that extend beyond the purely economic. This can be seen as a big challenge as the destination communities are normally less experienced in management than cruise lines.
