C. curvatus (ATCC 20509) was obtained from the Korean Collection for Type Culture and pre-cultured in a medium composed of 1 g/L peptone, 1 g/L yeast extract, and 10 g/L dextrose. C. curvatus was grown in 250 mL Erlenmeyer flasks containing 50 mL of medium and incubated at 28°Cinarotaryshakerwhichwassetto 150 rpm. Before inoculation, seed cells were sub-cultured for 24 h in a medium that contained 10 g/L mannitol, 1 g/L peptone, and
1 g/L yeast extract. The initial pH was 7.2 and the inoculum rate was 10% (v/v).
