สรุปบทเรียนวิชา Thai Cultural Studies สำหรับ นศ. คบ Lesson summary for 2rd English education major students, College of Teacher Education - The course "Thai Cultural Studies" is an excellent example of content- based instruction (CBI) which focuses on the topic or the subject matter along with enhancing language competency. Content-based instruction can make learning a language more motivating and interesting because it helps you develop a much boarder knowledge of something, apparently, something in Thai context for this course. In Thai Cultural Studies course, English skills aren't explicitly focused, but you can use the skills to fulfill a certain purpose. For our last week lesson, we discussed about the cultural aspects of being Thai. You are asked to use study skills and reading strategies to answer the questions. Furthermore, you made a list of the passive voice verbs in the passage and rewrote the active sentences into passive sentences (don't forget the items 6-10 that you need to complete as your assignment). There are various sources to learn more about the passive voice if you need more clarification. In Unit 2, we broadly discussed about some useful facts about Thailand such as basic geographical knowledge, climate, population, government, history, economy, etc. You gained lexical knowledge and practiced listening skill with the authentic resource like YouTube. Next week, we will talk about "Rice as the essence of Thai life" with the language focus on an appositive. We'll go a bit further until the first part of unit 3. I try to correct your written task as quick as I can so that you will know what mistakes you made in terms of grammar, structure or word choice. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
