a. ISO or International Organization for Standardization was formed in 1947. Its
Head Office is in Geneva, Switzerland. It produces "Requirements" for
various International Standards such as ISO 9001. ISO 14001, ISO 22000
and so on. It does not audit and does not issue certificates.
b. UKAS or United Kingdom Accreditation Services is an organization that
registers or appoints Certification Bodies. It does not audit and does not issue
certificates.
c. LRQA or Lloyds Register Quality Assurance is an Certification
Body registered with UKAS. It carries out Initial and Surveillance Audits and
issues certificates.
You must have the correct facts to give to the press or reporters. Giving wrong information is very dangerous because this is "misleading the public". When Mr Bounlam talks to the press, let me be with him to ensure only correct information is given.
