so we have Levi who is a clean-freak, and ha…nge who is canonically dirty (her hair in particular) and despite Isayama including these details in his original character notes, we’re given the episode 9 hair grab. I’m sorry but there has to be a reason for the anime director to include this scene. Isayama has already stated he gives approval over non-manga scenes included in the anime, and from what the anime director has said, all hints towards romance have been an “innovative experience”. My impression is that they know via Isayama which couples he intended and hints are thrown in accordingly. Hence the episode 9 hair grab. Why else include that (it’s quite intimate considering Levi’s character. We don’t see him at all being so touchy with another character unless via violence, yet here he is grabbing Hange’s dirty hair, and getting up close and personal (and its not just the proximity of their faces, its the fact that his arm is draped around her shoulders in order to grab her head). This “hint” just seems too telling to me. That was our first hint.
