An equity perspective is a common one and refers to a situation in which outcomes are justified by relative contributions (i.e. the individual who contributes the most gets the most desirable outcome); however, in other instances a fair outcome may be seen as one in which those who have the greatest need get the most desirable outcomes (need perspective) or one in which everyone shares equally in outcomes regardless of contribution. Studies conducted in Korea and India show greater preferences for equality and need perspectives of distributive fairness, respectively, than equity; other research has suggested that employees in countries low in individualism (i.e. collectivist) also value equity in allocation of rewards .
