Back in April, Phoenix Suns guard Jason Richard made the surprising announcement via Twitter that he had signed a deal with Chinese footwear and apparel brand PEAK. The new deal resulted in the immediate production of his own PEAK shoe, the JR1. While we’ve seen images of the JR1 here and there, we’ve never gotten a close look. That all changes today with a new set of detailed photos that recently surfaced online.
This “Away” colorway of the JR1 sports a black perforated leather upper, with a reptile textured variation working the toebox. White hits branding and logos on the tongue, ankle and heel. Phoenix-inspired purple and orange accent the look as well. Cushion3 technology is noted via purple tab on the midsole. Richardson’s signature reverse between-the-legs dunk logo appears in purple on the toe and white on the heel. Stitched on the tongue in orange is “JRICH23.”
What do you think of the J-Rich PEAK shoe? Where does PEAK stack up against brands like Li-Ning and Anta?
