IN today’s world of modern technology, the usage of mobile applications is steadily rising; numerous mobile applications are readily available in electronic markets across multiple devices [1]. Due to the development of tablet computers, some applications took advantage of its mobile capabilities. Applications such as Kik Messenger [2] allow the user to use their device to communicate with other people via instant messages. To compliment this messaging feature, a sketching feature is also present, allowing the users to create basic sketches and doodles. Using the Kik Messenger user interface, users can send and share these sketches to other users. However, the said sketching feature lacks a realistic writing feel. Jagged edges are visible when drawing lines, making the overall presentation of the sketch rather crude. Image annotation is also not supported. As the app is to be developed for social platform, implementing a way to enable the users to personalize their images would help express ideas and enhance their social experience [3]. Sub-applications for Kik Messenger are referred to as cards. To enhance the messenger app as a social platform, a card is developed to include a sketching feature with smooth writing and image annotation. Web technologies such as HTML5 and JavaScript are utilized. To document the application’s implementation, Bézier curves, line thinning and overdraw are also discussed as part of the natural handwriting algorithm
