The screening processes for different vibration modes are
shown in Fig. 3. The linearly vibrating screen causes the particles
to travel faster along the screen deck than the circular or elliptical
vibrations for the same conditions. Hence, the material layer is the
thinnest in this case. On the contrary, particles accumulate at the
feed end of a circularly vibrating deck. The material layer clearly
shows a thickness gradient because of the low travel speed of
the particles. The elliptically vibrating screen has a thickness of
the material layer and a particle travel velocity that fall between
the other two vibration modes.
