2.2. Retail survey of chicken and eggs tested for Salmonella
Chicken meat and egg samples were collected by members of the
Food Policy and Programs Branch (FPPB) in the Department of Health
and sent to the Food and Environmental Laboratory at the Institute of
Medical and Veterinary Science (IMVS), Adelaide. All samples were
collected from retail outlets between January and June 2008. Details
about suppliers were sought at the point of purchase and from
identifying factors on the labels of the food samples
