Statistical analysis. One-way analysis of variance ANOVA was used to evaluate the
differences of biomechanical parameters between treated and control groups. Student’s ttest was used to evaluate the signifi cant differences of biomechanical parameters between treated and untreated lesions and with those of their normal contra-lateral skin samples.Neutrophils, macrophages, fi broblasts scores and vessel counts were analysed using one-way ANOVA. When the differences among the groups were signifi cant, Duncan’s
multiple range test was used. All analyses were performed using SPSS 13.0 (SPSS Inc.,
Chicago, IL, USA). A P-value lower than 0.05 was considered signifi cant.
