I awoke on the moon
Like every other day that's passed
Trying to remember why
Why I'm here
Acting busy
Pretending to be busy
Decorating my ship as Earth sets
And admiring a red dot so far
Day in
Day out
Yet always dark
Less gravity here keeps my head in the stars
A message from Mars was today's wake up call
A faint, yet clear signal
A message of love from the red dot so far
Transmission received
"Come home"
My ship can't contain my body as well as my heart
The gravity just barely holds me here
I place my green heart inside
I bid it a somber goodbye
A sober farewell
We have lift off
My body still here
But on Mars my heart now dwells
My body still here
I begin a new ship to decorate
I work and I wait
Acting busy
Pretending to be busy
Every so often I see the red dot
I jump towards it
Trying to defy gravity
It's still out of reach
But the closeness will haunt me
My heart is safe on Mars
