As mentioned a while back, following the SuperSet Implementation, we wanted to revisit some of the changes made in CRS and on OTAs in order to ensure maximum use of the CORE pricing and distribution capabilities along with adherence to the standards introduced. This series of audits would include some checks on default pricing, restrictions, coding & mapping with OTAs, etc.
In line with this initiative, Ed has prepared the enclosed results of the default pricing audit for all SuperSet hotels.
He has audited the default pricing settings of more than 20,000 rate codes including ALL TPIs and Public Rates (CORE Pricing Only), and attached you will find more detailed information about the audit, which includes the following for our ASIA hotels;
- Current Default Pricing: This reflects the current default pricing setting for the particular hotel and the rate code
- Correct Default Price: This reflects what should be as the default pricing setting
- Variance: This reflects the difference between what it is today and what should be
- Comments: Though I believe what needs to be done is clear when “Current” and “Correct” pricing settings are different, I took the liberate to make some additional comments. For the purpose of this audit, I went into the level of detail to ensure consistency across all hotels for the same rate. E.g. a rate can be managed either by a season set up or default pricing set up. In the audits previously conducted on the cutover date of each superset hotel, I didn’t always go into this level of detail, as this doesn’t have any impact on whether or not the pricing is correct. However with this audit, I would also like to ensure consistency through one unified way of setting pricing for the same rate code
The main aim of this audit is to ensure that pricing (mainly for OTAs managed via default pricing) were done correctly in CRS to ensure we do not have;
Example 1
- Rate Parity due to incorrect pricing e.g. Agoda Flexible Rate needs to have -15% pricing, but the hotel put -20%, leading to parity
Example 2
- Lack of product availability e.g. hotel has not entered any default pricing at all, leading to “pricing error” and consequently lack of product availability, impacting not only business conversion and revenue opportunity but also hotel ranking on OTAs, resultant from this lack of availability
Attached you will find a file per area, which includes a list of hotels by rate code with issue as well as an additional tab with the Master Pricing List, which can be used as a reference table for all hotels if necessary.
