Hydrolysis performed with high temperature might cause further degradation of sugars,
thus we cooled down the
obtained
hydrolysate
in an ice bath;
however, this method is not suitable
during process
scale up.
From our results, there is only a slight increase in the concentration
of inhibitors without cooling down
(Formic acid, levulinic acid,
furfural and HMF reached 0.11, 0.73, 0.08 and 0.51 g/L, respectively
and
no
increase in TPC concentration was
observed).
