A rapidly expanding literature documents the importance of trans fatty acids (TFAs) in human health due to the increased
risk of cardiovascular disease where they are negatively correlated with plasma HDL-cholesterol concentration and
positively correlated with plasma LDL-cholesterol level [16].
It is also important to point out that, in contrast to other fungi[17, 18], no other fatty acids with an odd number of carbon
atoms have been detected in considerable amounts.
