[83] reported that thesorption of 17-ethinylestradiol on inactivated aerobic and anaero-bic sludge was greater at 10◦C than 30◦C because Gibbs free energy(G◦, an indicator of the spontaneity of the process) decreased astemperature decreased. Hai et al. [84] observed that the removalof hydrophobic TrOCs (log D > 3) was stable at 10–30◦C, but wasunstable and lower at 45◦C.
