When the force is applied to a crisp item, its structure is stressed until a critical point is reached: the action of external force causes the rupture of the brittle walls of the cellular structure which start to vibrate. The vibration is transmitted through the air as acoustic wave, which generates the sound (Piazza et al., 2007). For this study, there is a maximum peak of sound between 87.30 and 88.97 dB as shown in Fig 3(a).
