This 2014, the fifth APTSA congress will be held in Bangkok, Thailand. The
slogan of this year is “Playing together means learning together”. We focus on the
power of interaction, communication, sharing, discussion, cooperation, and
collaboration. By having opportunity for students to learn together and share
ideas with other countries and then integrate and abroad them into their own
country.
At the fifth congress of APTSA, the representative of member countries
will submit a presentation relevant to the theme “successful aging; from clinic to
community”. Due to the fact that aging population is defined as the increasing
proportion of elderly persons in the total population. As a consequence of the
sustained declines in fertility and mortality during the last three decades of the
20th century.Many countries face a rapidly growing population of elderly persons
will exceed the population of children.
The presentation aims to:
1. Present the physical therapy education and clinical practice with elderly
persons that relevant to community based rehabilitation (CBR) or primary care.
2. Share the student activities that improve quality of life for elderly persons and
others in community.
3. Discuss the difference and limitation of learning and clinical practice that
related to elderly persons and community based rehabilitation.
4. Promote health promotion by physical therapy students.
5. Encourage student participation in their own education.
The Congress is open to all physical therapy students from all levels in the
educational program of countries in the Asian region. Faculty members from
physical therapy institutions are also welcome to participate.
