Thus, it can be concluded that straw mulch had a positive
effect on mungbean yield through various pathways. In some cases,
weeds were not a major problem (e.g. Kampong Thom in year 1),
yet yield was improved with mulch application. In others (e.g. Kampong
Thom in year 2), while crop emergence was not improved,
yield was improved. In some others, there were contributions from
all these factors.
