Joan is a store manager of a large department store. Employees in the furniture department of Joan's store weren't selling an expensive, complex line of furniture because they didn't take the time to learn the complicated pricing structure. So Alan Kimbrough, the district manager, decided to motivate them by increasing the commission for selling these items (and some high-end sofas with extra options, too).
