1. Absorbers, Contactors and Strippers are vessels used in the oil and gas industries to remove component from one flowing fluid into another. These vessels are very similar to each other in construction and there shape is usually that of a tower. The basic flow pattern through each vessel is also similar. In each case, there will be two fluid flows which run counter-current to each other: one, a liquid, which flows from the top downwards and the other a gas with flows from the bottom upwards. The parts are designed so that both fluids will come into contact with each other while they are passing through the vessel.
