In marketing, the term "product" is widely used to identify solutions a marketer provides to its target market. In fact, the term "product" can cover offerings that fall into one of the following categories:
Goods - Something is considered a good if it is a tangible item. That is something you can feel, taste, hear, smell or see. Bicycles, computers and mobile phones are all examples of tangible goods. Music online, as well as an information website is also considered as goods because they are built, stored and offer the same benefits each time a customer has access to them.
Services - something is considered a service if it is an offering a customer obtains through the work or labour of someone else. Services can result in the creation of tangible goods. Hair salon, hotel, travel and tourism,or car rent are considered services
Ideas - Something falls into the category of an idea if he marketer attempts to convince the customers to change their behaviours or their perceptions in some way. Marketing ideas, legal advices or business consulting, public service campaign for road safety are all examples of ideas.
