Based on the initial feedback from your side we assumed that out of total quantity only 2 ton is lumped, accordingly when we take it up with supplier they agreed to give us credit note for full quantity.
Later on we learn that quantity of this lot no 402 is 22 MT.
During my previous visit, I cut open one bag in my presence at factory to see the level of lumping of this material. (photo attached).
While the whole bag appeared lumped, when we open it, > 80% quantity was non lump / agglomerated material (soft lump) which upon pressing in hand was breaking and had one large chunk of 4 kg lump which required hammer to break.
Accordingly we shared the same with supplier.
As the amount involved is huge the vendor requested following:
a. Consume what is good quality – Non lump material
b. Send them sample of lump.
We have sent the sample to them already and they will receive it in another 7 days, as we shipped it to airport only.
Based on this evaluation they will send their technical team to our plant for joint testing.
As the supplier is appearing fair, we should try to consume good material from batch 402.
We also have batch no 430 ( Non Lump – good quality).
