The development of NS after HSCT is found to be more
common in the late post-transplant period (>6 months after
the procedure) [15]. The current analysis has revealed that
the 2 most frequent kidney pathologies, MGN and MCD,
developed at similar intervals post-HSCT. This contrasts with
the results reported by Hu [8] describing MCD evolution
before that of MGN (11 versus 17.5 months). A potential
explanation of this difference could be related to the fact that
the cohort analyzed in the present study included selected
patients (described in the literature) and excluded children.
Hence, no difference was observed in terms of time of NS
appearance after HSCT.
