PRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — A 47-year-old man has been charged with murder in the shooting deaths of four people at a motel in southwestern Missouri.
Greene County prosecutors say 47-year-old Scott A. Goodwin-Bey was charged Monday in the Nov. 15 killings at an Economy Inn in Springfield. He is being held without bond at Greene County Jail.
The Springfield News-Leader reports (http://sgfnow.co/1CcVVbJ ) that court documents say Goodwin-Bey was arrested on Nov. 30 after he acted strangely and handed over a gun to a convenience store clerk. A witness to the shootings said the suspect believed the victims had been telling police about his drug use.
The murder charges were delayed until lab test results were returned to prosecutors Feb. 4.
It was not immediately clear if Goodwin-Bey has an attorney.
