In parallel with the shoot P concentration, the shoot
Mg concentration decreased significantly with decreasing
soil P supply in developing wheat plants (Table 2).
Similarly, the lowest shoot Cu concentrations were measured
in the low-P plants. The shoot Mn levels were
dramatically altered by the interactive effects of the
treatments. Both autoclaving soil and higher P application resulted in elevated shoot Mn concentrations.
However, the effects of P on shoot Mn were
particularly prominent in non-autoclaved soil. At
high Zn, the shoot Mn levels were lower, and the
effects of soil autoclaving and P supply were weaker
than at low Zn.
