The value of base and cutoff temperatures vary primarily with the crop species.
The value of base and cutoff temperatures for a specific crop is usually obtained
from literature. Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (1991) and Mahmood (1993)
estimated the base temperature of Boro rice cultivated in Bangladesh as 15◦C.
Hussain (2008) estimated the upper threshold temperature limit of Boro rice as 35◦C.
Therefore, in the present study, 15◦C is considered as base temperature and 35◦C is
considered as cutoff Temperature for Boro rice.
