• Choose low- or reduced-sodium, or no-salt-added versions of foods. • Choose fresh, plain frozen, or canned “with no salt added” vegetables. • Cook rice, pasta, and hot cereals without salt.
• Use herbs, spices, and salt-free seasoning blends in cooking and at the table. • Choose prepared foods such as tempeh, seitan, and mock meats that are lower in sodium. • Rinse canned foods, such as beans, to remove some sodium.
