A healthy level of conflict helps to prevent ‘groupthink’, In which people are so committed to a cohesive team they are unwilling to express opposite opinions. When people in work teams go along with others simply for the sake of harmony , problems unusually result .Thus a degree of conflict leads to better decision making. However conflict that is to strong , that is focused on personal rather than work issues , or that is not managed appropriately can be damaging to the team’s morale and productivity. Too much conflict can be destructive , and interfere with the healthy exchange of ideas and information.
