Listening means the ability of understanding how a sentence is related to
another sentences and what their communicative functions are. Listeners only listen to
related purpose of the messages and will not pay attention to what they do not interest
(Nataporn Saktewin 2002 : 12-22). Banlue Pluksawan (1990 : 39), Underwood
(1993 : 1), and Bancha Ung-sakul (2002 : 63) advocate this idea that understanding
the speakers’ purposes and focusing on what they want to communicate and try to
learn as the situation of the speakers.
